Commando Memorial

Je n’ai pas d’avis sur le bien-fondé ou l’absurdité des guerres. J’ai juste été touché en voyant que bon nombre des soldats tués avaient plus ou moins l’age de mon fils …

The Commando Memorial is a Category A listed monument in the United Kingdom, dedicated to the men of the original British Commando Forces raised during World War II. Situated around a mile from Spean Bridge village, it overlooks the training areas of the Commando Training Depot established in 1942 at Achnacarry Castle. Unveiled in 1952 by the Queen Mother, it has become one of the United Kingdom’s best-known monuments, both as a war memorial and as a tourist attraction offering views of Ben Nevis and Aonach Mòr. Préparation et sortie de l’Escorte Royale en l’honneur du roi de Jordanie en visite à Bruxelles.
Un superbe moment !
J’ai été impressionné par la fierté et la passion, sans parler de la complicité entre le cavalier et son cheval, qui se dégageait tout au long de la préparation et de la prestation.
Un grand merci à Dominique P pour cette invitation et aux responsables pour avoir autorisé notre présence.

Brick Lane

Brick Lane (is a street in east London, England, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It runs from Swanfield Street in the northern part of Bethnal Green, crosses Bethnal Green Road, passes through Spitalfields and is linked to Whitechapel High Street to the south by the short stretch of Osborn Street.
Today, it is the heart of the city’s Bangladeshi-Sylheti community and is known to some as Banglatown. It is famous for its many curry houses. (suite…)
