(FR) Pour la troisième fois j’aurai le plaisir de participer à Cabinart. Cette initiative de la commune de Coxyde offre la possibilité d’exposer, du 25 mai au 15 septembre 2024, des oeuvres au dos des cabines de plage.

Cette année le thème est « Aangespoeld / Echoué / Stranded ».

J’ai choisi de présenter une photo prise en été à l’arrivée de l’orage. Un couple a eu confiance dans sa bonne étoile et a choisi de rester sur la plage alors que tout le monde s’en allait craignant la pluie. Leur confiance était justifiée … Un peu plus tard le soleil brillait sans une goutte de pluie sur la plage …

(NL) Voor de derde keer neem ik met veel plezier deel aan Cabinart. Van 25 mei tot 15 september 2024 biedt dit initiatief van de gemeente Coxyde de mogelijkheid om kunstwerken tentoon te stellen op de achterkant van strandhuisjes.

Het thema van dit jaar is « Aangespoeld / Echoué / Gestrand ».

Ik heb ervoor gekozen om een foto te laten zien die in de zomer is genomen toen de storm op komst was. Een stel had vertrouwen in hun geluk en koos ervoor om op het strand te blijven toen iedereen wegging uit angst voor de regen. Hun geloof was gerechtvaardigd… Even later scheen de zon zonder een druppel regen op het strand…

(EN) For the third time, I’m delighted to be taking part in Cabinart. From 25 May to 15 September 2024, this initiative by the municipality of Coxyde offers the opportunity to exhibit works of art on the backs of beach huts.

This year’s theme is « Aangespoeld / Echoué / Stranded ».

I’ve chosen to show a photo taken in summer when the storm was coming in. One couple had faith in their lucky stars and chose to stay on the beach when everyone else was leaving, fearing the rain. Their faith was justified… A little later, the sun was shining without a drop of rain on the beach…
